​Every year, around 40,000 children in the UK acquire a brain injury as the result of an accident or illness. The impact can be life changing. Some children may lose the ability to walk, talk, sit, stand, or even feed themselves — and in some cases, they may lose all these abilities. It can be an incredibly difficult journey for both the children and their families.

 

At The Children’s Trust, we have been here to help for over 40 years. As the UK’s leading charity dedicated to children with brain injury, we are proud to provide expert rehabilitation, education, therapy, and care.  

 

Our national specialist centre in Tadworth, Surrey is home to the largest children’s neurorehabilitation service of its kind in the UK. Through residential rehabilitation we help children restore lost skills or develop new ways of doing things, all the time supporting the family with their child’s newly acquired disability, transition home, and plan for the future.

 

Alongside this, The Children’s Trust School is a residential school for children and young people with a wide range of special needs including neurodisability and complex education, health, therapy and care needs. We provide a safe, caring, and happy environment and enrich a child’s quality of life by promoting their intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development.

 

Our support does not stop there. We work nationally, reaching families in their own communities through our Community Rehabilitation Service and our online information and advice.
